In March 2008, Maker's Mark put out a call for artists, with one crucial prerequisite in mind: all of those artists had to be current Kentucky residents. We were very happy to receive over 120 applications, which our jury of experts narrowed down to 51 participating artists. Each of these artists visited our historic distillery to gain inspiration for their piece(s). Jason Hargis was one of the finalists and his pieces were displayed in both San Fransisco and New York City.
